Two street signs cross the middle of the sheet — FRONT ST and OLD SLIP — and behind them the towers go up in flat black.

A lithograph in solid blacks, undated. The sheet is numbered 4/50 and signed in pencil below the image. The crossed street signs name the corner: Front Street and Old Slip, in lower Manhattan, a block from the East River. Reproduced from the impression at the Smithsonian American Art Museum.

About the artist

Hendrik Glintenkamp (1887–1946) was born in Augusta, New Jersey and died in New York City. He studied under Robert Henri, exhibited in the 1913 Armory Show, and drew for The Masses alongside John Sloan and George Bellows.
