The line that broke poetry in two — « Je est un autre » — in Rimbaud’s own hand, not set in type.

The document

A faithful facsimile of Rimbaud’s autograph manuscript — the “lettre du voyant” to Paul Demeny of 15 May 1871, held at the Bibliothèque nationale de France.

About the artist

Arthur Rimbaud (1854–1891) had abandoned poetry by twenty-one; this is his hand at sixteen, remaking what a poem could be.

The print

Printed to order and made to last. Choose Museum Matte (heavyweight matte art paper) or Fine Art Giclée (Hahnemühle cotton paper — the archival standard). The Métrica museum caption — artist, title, date and source — is printed as part of the piece, set in our house type. Free US shipping on orders over $75.
