A lithograph printed in black ink on wove paper, 1928, from an edition of fifty. The sheet is inscribed 9/50 and signed and dated in pencil below the image; a second signature is drawn into the stone itself. The pier shed reads MALLORY LINE. Reproduced from the impression at the Detroit Institute of Arts.

About the artist

Glenn O. Coleman (1887–1932) studied under Robert Henri and drew New York at street level for twenty years — Chinatown, the Lower East Side, the waterfront — often walking the city with Stuart Davis and Hendrik Glintenkamp.
